The power of the Cross

Colossians 1:12-14

What is the impact of the Cross on our lives? The cross is the demonstration of God’s love for all mankind (1 John 3:1).

There is darkness in this world. The heart of man is desperately wicked. Sin is destroying people and communities. We need an answer to the desperate need of men and women. Why did Jesus talk more about hell than He did about heaven? God’s divine judgement is no joke. There is a power of evil among mankind today. All our education and invention cannot solve the issue of sin. God had a plan from the very beginning to deal with the problem of sin. He planned to rid us of the curse of sin that we cannot resolve ourselves. Sin is in us and we cannot eradicate it. Only the plan of God can get us back on track and back into relationship with Him. God loves the whole world. His plan was to give His son in order to show His love for us (John 3:16). We need the pardon for our sin that only God can give through the death of Jesus on the cross. Jesus died on the cross for our sin and we can be born again. Are you born again? Jesus said we have to be born again (John 3:3). Without being born again we cannot get to heaven.

No plan is worth the paper it is written on unless it is implemented. God’s plan was implemented through the cross. Jesus implemented God’s plan. We can be born again. When Jesus comes into our lives the darkness has to flee.

Who do you say Jesus is? Is He just a good man or is He who He said He was – the Son of God?

It will take a miracle to get you into heaven. Being born again through the miracle of the Cross is the only way you can get into heaven. God’s plan has already been fulfilled, but it has to be implemented in our lives. How are you going to stand before God on the day of judgement?

The Cross is the only answer to the darkness in the world. Only Jesus can save, heal the broken heart and set the captive free. Do you have a passion to see the lost saved?
